Message I have replaced my 90 TT power steering pump with a NA pump and new NA lines. I also removed both hicas controllers in the engine bay and the undercarriage. My results after completing the work is very heavy steering. The Z now feels like a Heavy Dump truck. From reading the manual, the symptoms point to the hicas system being in “fail safe mode”. This FSM is caused by one of the many hicas sensor failing for 10 seconds or more. Will removing the hicas controllers cause one of the sensors to fail and my PS stator switch to stay in the “off” position? Z’rs that have done the Hicas eliminator on 90-93 Zs, did you experience the same issue or have to do anything to correct the sensor on the Hicas controller?

I also don’t have a bulb in the HICAS LED so I can’t do the Hicas diag to help determine any faults…

Any help is appreciated

Gary
